How four senior engineers decided to do consulting differently.
Vectorise Labs was founded on a simple observation: the work that actually moves engineering velocity, rebuilding CI/CD pipelines, killing flaky tests, fixing developer experience, is rarely glamorous, and almost nobody in the consulting market is willing to do it at a fair price.

The four of us had spent years at some of Australia’s most demanding engineering organisations, at places like Allianz, Amadeus, Luxury Escapes, and a handful of funded startups, watching the same pattern play out. Companies would hire a Big Four consultancy to “accelerate” their engineering, pay seven figures for slide decks and process frameworks, and end up shipping slower than before.
Meanwhile, the actual work that moved the needle was mechanical and largely invisible: a ten-minute build time turning into two, a weekly release cadence turning into daily deploys, a flaky test suite finally returning green. These wins compound fast. Teams that were shipping monthly suddenly started shipping daily. Teams that lived in war-room retros suddenly stopped needing them. But you couldn’t hire any of the name-brand consultancies to actually do that work without first sitting through a discovery phase, a stakeholder workshop and a forty-page findings document.
We wanted to build the consultancy we would have wanted to hire ourselves. Senior engineers who show up, ship code, and leave the team stronger than they found it.
